The New Wave: Edinburgh's Avant-Garde Design Hotels

Edinburgh is experiencing a hospitality renaissance, shedding its purely tartan-clad image for something far more daring. The city's historic skyline, dominated by the Castle, now shares space with architectural marvels like the ribbon-wrapped W Edinburgh in the St James Quarter. This curated collection highlights the avant-garde properties leading this shift, where heritage meets high fashion. From the transformed banking halls of Gleneagles Townhouse in the New Town to the chic, labyrinthine interiors of Virgin Hotels in the Old Town, these hotels are destinations in themselves. They offer not just a place to sleep, but a masterclass in contemporary Scottish design, blending centuries-old stonework with provocative modern art and cutting-edge luxury.
