Sofitel London St James

Where History Sleeps: The Grand Dames of Mayfair & St. James's

In the heart of London, two neighborhoods stand as the custodians of British luxury: Mayfair and St. James's. These are not merely districts; they are the playgrounds of history, where the cobblestones echo with the footsteps of royalty and the air carries the scent of expensive cigars and rare teas. Our curated collection focuses on the 'Grand Dames'—historic properties like The Ritz, Claridge's, and The Stafford—that defined the golden age of travel. Located moments from Buckingham Palace and the tailors of Savile Row, these hotels offer more than sleep; they offer a masterclass in English heritage. From the art-deco glamour of Mayfair to the gentlemen's club discretion of St. James's, discover the addresses that have hosted the world's elite for centuries.
