5-star hotel
Ponte Vedra Inn And Club
In a state increasingly crowded with manufactured magic, Ponte Vedra Inn & Club delivers the genuine article: 1928-era pedigree that money simply cannot buy. This isn't a hotel you stumble upon; it’s an estate that commands the Jacksonville coast with the confidence of a matriarch. The draw here has always been the ground-floor oceanfront rooms. Forget waiting for elevators; you slide open your glass door, step past the signature yellow umbrellas, and your feet are on the sand. It is a level of access that modern fire codes and setbacks rarely allow. However, potential guests must navigate the current reality: the property is in the midst of a defining transformation. The Surf Club and its family pools are shuttered for a total rebuild until early 2027. While a shuttle ferries guests to the sister property (The Lodge & Club) for aquatics, the onsite experience has shifted toward adult-centric tranquility. The 30,000-square-foot spa, stocking La Mer and Zents, remains a sanctuary of silence. Dinner at the Inn Dining Room feels like a delicious time capsule—jackets are preferred, and the Steak Diane is prepared tableside with a theatricality that modern hospitality has largely abandoned. It is expensive, and currently, it is a resort in transition, but for service that anticipates your needs before you do, this Grand Dame remains unrivaled.
