Cobblers Cove
If Wes Anderson were to commission a Caribbean retreat, it would look exactly like Cobblers Cove. Centered around a 1940s candy-pink Great House, this Relais & Châteaux gem eschews the sprawling, sterile luxury of its neighbors for the intimate charm of an English country estate dropped into the tropics. The recent redesign by Soane Britain has banished any hint of colonial dustiness, replacing it with fern-print linens, bespoke rattan furniture, and those iconic candy-stripe umbrellas that demand to be Instagrammed. The accommodations to book are, unequivocally, the Camelot or Colleton suites in the main house. These rooftop sanctuaries feature private plunge pools overhung with bougainvillea—a far cry from the communal splash pads elsewhere. Dining here is an event; the Camelot Restaurant sits right at the water’s edge, serving the island’s freshest catch delivered daily by the hotel's resident fisherman, Barker. While the 'Sea Moon Spa' is modest (a single treatment room), the complimentary water skiing and swimming with turtles offer a more visceral form of wellness. It is unflashy, impeccably bred, and quietly glorious.
