Five Seas Hotel Cannes
If the Carlton is where you go to be seen, the Five Seas is where you go to disappear. Tucked just two minutes from the mania of the Palais des Festivals, this independent boutique property trades the gilded excess of the Croisette’s Grand Dames for a moodier, 'motionless journey' aesthetic. The lobby feels less like a hotel and more like the interior of a vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk—think plush red leather, dark woods, and oversized travel curios. While entry-level rooms are shockingly generous for the French Riviera (starting at 30 sqm), the real draw for our 'Red Carpet Royalty' feature is the 'Top of Five' secret suite. It’s the ultimate A-lister bunker, equipped with a private terrace and jacuzzi that paparazzi lenses can’t reach. Up on the fifth floor, 'Le Roof' serves as the hotel’s social heart. Here, Chef Lori Moreau’s bistronomic menu—don’t skip the seared mi-cuit salmon—is served alongside a 13-meter stainless steel infinity pool that reflects the sky like a knife’s edge. It’s sophisticated, undeniably sexy, and refreshingly devoid of the lobby-lurking tourists found elsewhere.
